hey friends of litmus. what's new? we've been in the studio. we recorded 2 completely new songs plus pattern and a new version of maybe it's time. as soon as the artwork is ready, you'll be able to download this stuff as a new ep. we're also planning a secret gig and a night of misfits karaoke. more soon-ish

happy new year, if it's not too late already. things have been quite busy for us but we couldn't access the site for a while, due to stress with ISPs (avoid 1&1 at all costs!)... but let's look ahead. new songs coming up, still working on the covers ep and we hope to be playing live in berlin very soon.

music blog based in the US. it's stylish and ultra-eclectic, just like LITMUS fans are. and it has a short feature on
your favorite elektropop band from berlin. otherwise, we're still working on the cover songs and enjoying the recent
good weather. more news soon.

everything ok where you are? we're fine, thank you. we've got a new
show coming up on the 4th of april. at SCHOKOLADEN, supporting SURROUNDED, from sweden... more details nearer the time, it's a way
off yet. and watch this space soon for some new songs. all for free,
a kind of bonus freebie for the real fans - you know who you are.
i just have to finish off a couple of things, change a few bars, edit
the beats, tweak the sounds, re-record vocals etc etc. like i said,
coming soon to a litmus website near you.

...and already it's 2008. almost without us noticing, the new year is already well underway. we're all extremely
busy with our day jobs this month, so we're keeping it low. which doesn't mean to say that nothing is happening -
there are new songs and fresh plans in the pipeline. anyway, all the best for 2008 from all of us to all of you.

friday! MAGNET! ECHTZEIT! LITMUS!
litmus is playing again this friday, the 7th of december, at MAGNET in berlin, to celebrate the release of
issue05 of ECHTZEIT MAGAZINE. there are three live acts (LITMUS, ACTIVE STEPPER, and
HANS BERG) and a bunch of highly-skilled djs, so it's more than »just a concert« -
it's an »event«.
doors open around 10, we're playing around 11. there will be a small
charge on the door, but only small.

keep friday the 23rd of november free - litmus is playing a DJ set
at the PING PONG BAR in kreuzberg: glogauerstr 21. it's free, drinks
are cheap, it's a great place, you can actually play ping pong and
you can enjoy great music like zoot woman, postal service, the stooges,
primal scream, broadcast, the knife, saint etienne, stars, death cab
for cutie, joy division, velvet underground, jacques dutronc, die
goldenen zitronen, jeans team, phoenix, pet, serge gainsbourg, whitest
boy alive, cut copy. yeah!

tonight! litmus at the NBI in berlin. kickoff is around 10 o'clock. 3 bands:
MACH DAS LICHT AUS MÄDCHEN, CASHCOW and us. Different flavours of elektropop, from trash to tragedy; aided and abetted by DJ DYNAMIC CYE. and here's some secret information: whisper »I am a friend of litmus« to the person on the door and get in for super cheap! still not convinced? well, we have a new song, and it's fast and even danceable. OK now? good. see you this evening.

and *ping* as if by magic, the website appeared. the domain found it's name
servers, and hey presto, everything shiny and new. one thing - the MUSIC
page isn't working yet, we still need to implement the shop, so don't bother
trying to download any songs yet. it should be working next week. so enjoy
the new site and come back soon. and put the 1 nov. in your diaries... litmus
in the NBI with MACH DAS LICHT AUS MÄDCHEN.

hello friends of litmus.
we're back online with a new site design and a new concert announcement!
on the 23. september we're playing at the bassy in berlin. we're playing with SIVA (great young band from berlin)
and THE MAGIC RAYS (fine music from switzerland). we're very excited
– the other bands are really really good. and we'll have some
new songs for you and maybe, just maybe, the very first litmus merchandise...
so everybody put your best suit or dress on, get around town and get
off the
train at SCHÖNHAUSER ALLEE. we're playing first so please come
fairly early.

yeah, it has been a while, hasn‘t it? we have another concert
on friday, in the GARAGE in pankow (berlin) for the POPMONITOR BERLIN
FESTIVAL.
it‘s all been organised by the very friendly folks at bands-in-berlin.
official start is 19:30 - we‘ll be playing sometime between
8 and 9 pm.
ok? ok! see you friday, maybe.

finally! just when we‘d completely given up all hope of playing
at ANTJE OEKLESUND'S, it works out. it‘s friday, the 30th of
march, it‘s rigaer str. 71/73 in berlin friedrichshain. free
entry (optional donations for the bands). TOLLKIRSCH, our proberaum
partners are playing too. nice place, cheap drinks.
and! i‘ve updated the music pages - there are 4 new songs in
»nusongs« - listen up and choose your favourite.
and! we‘ve been recording. we‘re still mixing, and it‘s
taking a loooooooooooong time. i cannot stress enough how long it‘s
taking. this is dinosaur time. it‘s sloooooooow. but we‘re
getting there. and when we get there, we‘ll have songs that
reflect the live sound far more accurately. certainly worth waiting
for.

update: we were going to play in antje
oeklesund - a very nice small club/bar/gallery in friedrichshain,
on friday, but it‘s been rescheduled for november. don‘t
know when yet, but as soon as we do, you‘ll know too.
one more thing - you can now download our remixes of wolke‘s
song »slow«. go to the music section, click on the picture
with the birds and the wolke, download the tracks for free. as played
on the radio this evening...

so KAFFEE BURGER (yes, that‘s how you spell it) was a big success,
despite the sad fact that julia was ill and i had to do the »my
best friend is my computer« thing... still, thank you to the
guys that came out - it was a good night. we do appreciate it very
much. and i promise to have at least one new song at the next show.
there are no new shows planned as yet, but watch this space. or myspace.
watch this space for some new music soon, too. remixes, new songs.

has it really been such a long time? yes, it has. a lot has happened
since our last post; holidays, illness, jobs, families, moving house...
we have been very busy, just elsewhere.
here‘s the »big« news - we‘re playing at kaffee
burger this friday, 1 september. we‘re playing alongside
THE ACT, a sixties-style garage outfit. come on downtown to torstr.
and support your local litmus.
we might be playing at full power, we might be doing the »one
man and his computer« thing again; we don‘t know yet.
it depends on a number of factors. but we‘ll be there, friday
evening, 10 o‘clock.
be there or be... somewhere far, far less enjoyable.

thanks to those of you who came out to the VAMP STAR concert on friday!
it was fun.
the more important news, though, is that we have a date for the infamous
SCHOKOLADEN concert - it‘s on the 12 july, exactly one month
from today!
it‘s a concert for the LOFI-LOUNGE and there are two other attractions...
one pamelia
kurstin and a berlin band called THE LAND. pamelia plays theremin
with loops and the land do »driftrock«. should be a very
interesting evening... so mark it now! put it in outlook so you don‘t
forget!

good news - i fixed the music pages! once again, you can download
songs and listen to them at work.
and on friday, litmus enters the fashion world... we‘re playing
at the opening of japanese designer endo‘s new VAMP STAR store.
there‘ll be an opening party, drinks, people to do, things to
see... and tasteful elektro-pop from litmus. so that‘s friday
9 june in brunnenstr. 169 in berlin mitte. nearest u-bahn is ROSENTHALER
PLATZ.
we‘re playing »reduzierte besetzung« so it‘ll
be cosy, and we‘ll be starting around 20:00; i.e. after the
football. see you there.
p.s. the SCHOKOLADEN concert is in july; watch this space.

you didn‘t think it would happen, we didn‘t think it
would happen, but, well... it‘s going to happen. we‘re
playing tonight - thursday 13th april - in the KING KONG KLUB in mitte.
don‘t be put off by the listing on the king
kong klub‘s site - we‘re stepping in for FATOU DUST,
who managed to split up before they could play the gig. main crowd
pleaser is PROGRAM. turntable moogtronica!
don‘t know what time we‘re playing or if it costs to get
in. but if you‘re feeling spontaneous and don‘t mind smelling
of beer on good friday, we‘ll see you in the KING KONG KLUB.
and if you‘re not feeling too spontaneous, we‘ll probably
be playing fairly soon in SCHOKOLADEN. hopefully we‘ll be able
to let you know a bit sooner for that one.

erm... how to put this... ? some of you may be experiencing difficulty
downloading our songs. this is because i messed up the shop templates
while fiddling with the graphics. what a hassle. if you want songs,
feel free to mail me and i‘ll send them to you.
ok. no other news yet - we‘re going to try and enter a couple
of competitions/festivals but there‘s nothing to report yet.
when there is, you‘ll know. until then, then...

we‘ve been taking it easy. after our concert in magnet, we
were so pleased with ourselves we missed lots of practices and we‘re
just getting round to getting back into it now. sooooo unprofessional...
but expect more soon. some new songs, maybe a concert or two. and
did you notice the new look? ok, it‘s pretty subtle... all comments
gratefully received.

magazine. come around 10 and you won‘t miss anything. don‘t

attention! achtung! we are experiencing technical difficulties! the
shop, and consequently all our songs, are offline at the moment. something
is broken somewhere but i can‘t find out what. i can offer nothing
but my sincerest apologies and a promise to fix it as soon as possible.
check back again soon and i‘m sure we‘ll be back up to
full speed.

hope you all enjoyed halloween - hard to believe that the site has
been up for over a year. have we moved forward? we‘ve hung on
in there, which in the face of sadly departing band members and ever
more demanding day jobs is a feat in itself.

know what you think - the spiffy review function has been rather underused
so far...

ok, so we were offline for a while there. an entire summer, in fact.
while you weren‘t looking, we played live, wrote new songs,
had fun and moved house. we did not go on holiday.
but now we‘re back online, moving not quite as fast but in half
the time... watch this space. and when you‘ve done that, take
a look at the »band« section for all you need to know
about our »new« members, jonas and julia. and then you
can download a new song from »album« and examine our updated
link list.

free. check back again soon ‚cos i‘m going to pack a bunch
of new stuff in here as we get it ready.
rehearsals continue with jonas and julia, no gigs yet ‚cos we‘re
not ready yet. we‘ll let you know when we are.

...from the same people. ole stuhrmann of the POPAGENTEN played our
song »somehow« (again) on tonight‘s show. not big
news, but we still get a kick out of being played on the radio.

of the highlights (»lichtblicke«) of 2004.
litmus gave a live interview on halloween after winning the »demo-ecke«
the previous week.

witness the litmus! 2005 sees us busy getting the website up and running,
writing new songs and above all, getting ready for the new litmus
generation... rehearsals start this week with the new line-up of jonas
on drums and keyboards and julia on bass. graham will be singing and
trying to avoid playing guitar as usual. alex will be flying in as
pop-berater and to play guitar keyboards live (like jan hammer).
we have new songs, new technical difficulties and new system requirements.
all our old songs will be available shortly on the site as downloads.
a lot of songs will be free! yay.
